Allan Mann is a structural engineer with nearly 50 years of wide experience on the design and construction of all kinds structures. He has worked in general building; the nuclear and deference industries and on ‘rides’ / moving structures for a long time. He has also investigated many failures and worked in dispute resolution. Major structures he has been onvolved with include: nuclear plant at Sellafield, the Royal Opera House; development of the Nirex underground waste repository; Devenport Dockyard; the London Eye (and several other wheels) and construction of Wembley stadium. Allan annually gives lectures at Manchester and Leeds Universities on the MSc module on earthquake engineering and at Birmingham University on engineering failures.
