Manchester has been at the heart of the engineering world
for over 200 years, contributing heavily to the development
of canals, railways, computing, aviation, physics and more.
As the world’s first true industrial city, Manchester owes a
lot of its success to the engineers who made it the progressive
bohemia it is today. With new, high-profile engineering
projects continually coming out of Manchester, its legacy of
technological progression looks set to stretch into the future.
But it is individual engineers themselves who will carry and
develop this legacy. Big ideas start small, and it is possible for
today’s inspired engineer to become tomorrow’s Turing or Dalton.
