Specialist interests include engineering design and new product development in automotive, aerospace and renewable energy industries. Responsible for research and knowledge transfer projects with a gross value of £14 million focused upon supporting new product development in SMEs. Formerly Director the Innovative Product Development Centre (University of Wolverhampton) and Virtual Engineering Centre (University of Liverpool). Winner of the AWM Lord Stafford Special Award for ‘Contribution to Innovation’ (2003), AWM Lord Stafford Special Award for ‘Living for Innovation’ (2004), and RAE Presidents Special Award for ‘Pandemic Services’ (2020).
